GROUP FIVE
1. All donations are collected free of charge. There is no public access to our warehouse. Items cannot be accepted at the warehouse. If items are left outside the warehouse, they will be treated as having been fly-tipped, and the police will be informed.
2. Collections are usually done in the morning. We are unable to give precise arrival times, nor can we make arrangements to attend at specific times. We can arrange for the van staff to contact you by phone on the day to give an approximate time of arrival. This must be arranged when the collection booking is made.
3. Items offered to us will be checked by the van staff and assessed for suitability. The van staff have the authority to refuse items which are, in their opinion, unsuitable for our needs. Examples of reasons for refusal include – items which are soiled, damaged beyond easy repair, too large or heavy or difficult to remove from the premises, or excess to our requirements. In particular, we are unable to accept any soft furnishings which do not have an attached and readable fire safety label, and mattresses which have any staining.
4. All of our staff are volunteers. The van staff have an expectation to be treated with respect at all times, and have the authority granted by the Trustees to refuse to collect from any person who abuses them. This includes any behaviour which may put any volunteer in a compromising position.
5. Ownership of any item collected by the Charity is transferred to the Charity upon collection, and the donor accepts that the item will be used in any way to further the objects of the Charity, as set out in the Governing Document lodged with the Charity Commission.
